We demand change for a modernised and professional system of government.
Our main concerns are:
- 450,000 people being unemployed
- NAMA
- Bank bailouts
- Pay cuts and tax hikes
- Neglect of our young and our elderly
Lets start by making simple changes that we can all agree on. Dáil Éireann sessions close for two months in the summertime, two weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter, plus any additional time that TDs can vote for separately.
This is unacceptable.
We are writing to you, as those privileged with the honour and responsibility of managing our nation’s affairs on our behalf.
Given the severity of the problems facing the country we request that Dáil Éireann be open for business all year round on a full time basis and that TDs' holiday entitlements be limited to five weeks per annum.
We request that you do everything in your power to ensure that this change is implemented with immediate effect.
